Is it worth it?
I have been doing some research about birth control and I what I found was quite shocking… I never thought about using birth control but I always thought in the future I might.
My heart aches for the women who are taking the pill and shooting up birth control injections in their body without knowing what the side effects are. What bothers me most is that the healthcare providers will not tell you all the side effects because they fear that you might not come back for another injection or that you might not let them prescribe it to you because that is how they make their money! It’s all business guys. Before you put anything in your body you have to sit down and do some research; every medications have some side effects you just have to pick the one you feel more comfortable with.
The history of birth control is shocking. In the 1920s birth control was illegal because when they tested the formula “depo”on animals it caused cancer in dogs so the FDA didn’t allow it to be used on humans. People were still trying to use it on the low but they experience a lot of side effects. Some people committed suicide after using the birth control even to this day because one of the side effects is depression. Imagine you are trying to use contraceptive to avoid making babies but you end up dying in the process is it worth it? Some women might say yes because they hate the idea of having a baby but I don’t! If you are taking the injection you have lower chance of getting pregnant in a year or at all it might render you sterile. Most women who takes birth control report having gained so much weight, heavy periods or irregular periods, their bodies have changed, they have a lot of UTI, they experienced bone weakness, acne, cancer and some of them have to take out their fallopian tubes! Basically if you take a birth control just expect that you might have to take something out of your reproductive system.
I understand how hard the economy is and you might want to avoid being pregnant often but also think about your health. Do your own research, discuss with your spouse what your best options are…the doctors are not your friend they are here to prescribe medications and make their money but you have a choice to make.
