Being a healthcare worker right now is draining, both physically and emotionally. Having to do extra work because someone has the virus, trying to take care of someone who's infected and trying to be cautious enough not to get infected. Every time I go to work I pray to God that I don't get sick and I am so paranoid already. I'm always thinking "what if I just caught the virus?" yes I am being careful but that doesn't mean that I am not scared, I am brave enough to show up to work and do what I have to do to make sure that the people are being taken care of. I am protecting myself and I gotta think about all the people I come in contact with, I don't want to infect anyone or for anyone to infect me.
some days I wish I could stay home and still get paid but I have a job to do. Don't get me wrong I am very grateful for my job I am just worried because I am in the front line fighting through this. I think it takes true bravery to be out there in hospitals, clinics, home care, nursing homes ... taking care of people. It is not easy...it can makes you freak out and go nuts at times. I try to talk to my mom to feel better when it gets overwhelming but all I can say is working in healthcare is no joke it's a "go hard or go home" type of stuff.
stay safe y'all.
