That movie can you see us that I talked about yesterday really hit a spark in me! Joseph was different from the other kids and he was bullied. His story reminded me of a few incidents that happened to me, When I was a kid in grade school in my country, I was very different and weird. I was very advance in reading and all caught up in any other subjects but I was so far behind in math, my teachers used to tell me “we’re wasting our time you’ll never learn how to count” I had a teacher who would send me to the board to solve a problem  that she knew I couldn’t solve just to humiliate me and the whole class would laugh. I felt soooo stupid for not being able to learn math quickly, I was traumatized of math and I would have panic attacks every time the teacher would start teaching that subject.

I was also weird and really shy! I didn’t have a lot of friends and I used to do this thing where I would hit myself for no reason (it was just a phase) I would stay quiet for a very long time when I’m out and only speak to my family. I didn’t trust anyone at all except my family. I was very small compare to the other girls, I used to ask my mom if something was wrong with me and she would always point out how beautiful I was but I couldn’t see it. In 6 grade I was bullied by my teacher! She would target a lot of us but I would get it the worse her hatred is burned in my brain to this day! She mistreated me so much that she was eventually fired! I used to cry a lot and I used to have a lot of bruises on my body from where she hit me.

Some kids are special and they need extra care and attention, but that doesn’t mean that there’s something wrong with them! Having a kid is a blessing so love your child and protect them.
