Pretty privilege
No matter how much people say “looks doesn’t matter” it will always matter! The very people who keep saying beauty is on the inside are already beautiful on the outside and they don’t understand what it’s like to be discriminated against their looks. This is not about me, I am just speaking my mind, but I’ve experienced both the upside and the downside of pretty privilege.
I am not an ugly girl, that I know but I realize when I try to enhance my beauty a lot more people act different towards me than when I don’t. For example, today I have on medical scrubs and a sweater, my hair is in mini twist, and I am not wearing any makeup. I look different than when my hair is down, and I dress to impress! For example, when I dress to impress people would be a lot nicer to me and would stare at me; and today some people wouldn’t waste their time staring at me because I’m just basic! I look comfortable lol well I am at work, and I really don’t care about my looks when I’m there.
Some of us girls are beautiful, but we are lazy! We need to do better! We need to maximize our beauty! I am not saying that we should be walking around with a full-face makeup everyday but at least take care of yourselves. Although I dress comfortable today, but I make sure that my clothes are clean, my lips are moisturized and that my skin is moisturized as well.
Here’s a few things we could do to keep us looking beautiful:
- 8 hours of sleep daily! Yes, sleep is essential for our health and having eye bags diminished our beauty!
- Eat fruits and veggies. It will keep our skin beautiful and our bodies healthy. Remember if your body is sick then your beauty will not shine! You need to make sure you are in good health.
- Exercise. Do some type of work outs daily it can be walking, biking, running or strength training but at least do something!
- Cut out toxic people. Those people will stress you out and in return you will become irritated and soon enough all of that stress will start showing in your appearance.
- drink water! always stay hydrated because that is very essential for your overall health and beauty.
- have 1 day to yourself, mine is on Sunday after meeting that's when I take long naps and wash my hair (I keep that afternoon for myself)
- pray to God and read the bible, draw closer to God and see how much you will be happy. if you're happy then you will be 10 times even more beautiful.
- surround yourself with happy and kind people they will in return make you happier and overall in a great mood :)
