Slowly dying.

I don’t mean to be a Debbie downer but a lot of the products that we are using on a day to day basis are actually bad for us!

Today I re-downloaded this app call “Yuka” and it’s free on the App Store and I remember I had the app a while ago but I just never really used it, the way this app works is really easy you just have to scan the bar code of the product in your hand and it will tell you all the ingredients found in the product. The results may shock you, the ingredients list is very detailed. It will tell you which ingredient is good and which one is actually bad for you. Today I scan a lotion that I use from time to time to only find out that this lotion contains BHT which  affects women’s reproductive system and fertility I was like wait what! You mean to tell me that this little lotion that I use on my hands once in a while is bad for me! I was appalled so I kept scanning all the products in my house and I was even more shocked! 

There’s this leave in conditioner that I’ve been using called rhyme and reason, I thought it was alright but for some reason I was experiencing some shedding and when I looked in the ingredient list I found that it contains a lot of proteins in it, which is good but not for daily use or repeated use! That’s how you get protein overload so I realized my hair was shedding because there’s too much protein in it! And it’s been a little dry not like back when I was using mielle but dry enough that I noticed. We have to be careful about the quality of the products we are buying, I know in this economy we can’t really always afford to be picky but at least we have to be safe! 

Anyway as my reader please download the yuka app and scan the products in your house as well as the products you are buying to see if they are right for you. This app will also give you alternative products that are much better  :)
