As you must know by now I am a huge fan of the 80's and in my opinion the 2000s couldn't compare! The 80's was just a fun time with great music, great entertainers, Saturday night live was funnier back then, great movies. The best of all cartoons only came on TV on Saturday mornings only, so if you didn't wake up early to catch the new bugs bunny episode you would have to wait until next week and I think that really teach the kids about patience back then. Now you can watch cartoons whenever you want and I am happy about that because I am still a child at heart! and I still pretend like I am waking up early on Saturdays to watch cartoons like old times! I wasn't alive in the 80's but in the Caribbean they only play cartoons early in the mornings so I would wake up early to watch cartoons when we had electricity. All of that taught me patience and a life without instant gratification because things were slower back then but now we are living the fast life! to the point we cannot waste a second to wait for the internet to work without getting frustrated but imagine this there was no internet in the 80's !!
There was no such things as fake news, I mean of course there we gossips but the real news was on newspapers and the journalist made sure their sources were legit, they did not just print garbage. Nowadays you can practically read anything online and in the magazine but doesn't mean that they are true!
I love Madonna back in the 80's she was quite popular and her sense of fashion and music was really cool. You know I am already obsessed with Michael Jackson so I don't have to talk about him for the 100th time lol. One person I barely talked about is the beautiful and talented Whitney Houston! people used to say I looked like her when I was slimmed...even now too if I have a pulled back hairstyle! she was talented whewww that voice omg! she was indeed amazing. I love her bodyguard album even though that was released in the 90's but I love her first album and I especially love her song greatest love of all .. I heard she almost dated Michael Jackson but because she used to date Jermaine while he was married! Michael didn't want anything to do with her but they would've made a nice couple. Tom Hanks wasn't crazy back then and he made good movies. Brooke Shields was the beautiful woman around that time and she was just so well spoken and soft! wow what a beauty she was. Janet Jackson was breaking out of her shell and came out with her first album. Bill Cosby show was great too! but we are not going to talk bout him as person just the show because what he did was just awful and inhumane... but nonetheless he really raised the bar high for black parents with his show, it showed the world that as black people we are not always dysfunctional and that we can have high moral values as well as standards.
I like Prince a little, he is slowly growing on me I just couldn't stand how full of himself he was but he was surprisingly funny! I also love the group gun N' roses they had a few songs that I like. I feel like back then people sing with a purpose they did it because it was their passion, now people just make music to make money and they probably don't even care about what they put out.
Can I turn back time !!!?? I would go back to November 1982 that month when the thriller album was released :)
