There is one more person that I find very fascinating and it is Princess Diana!
She is one of the most adored human beings around the world, she was indeed beautiful and elegant. Her life as a princess was not what anyone would imagine and it wasn’t a fairytale as we all thought it was. Diana had a tough childhood, her mother abandoned her when she was just 8 years old ditching her father to be with another man. Diana was in the middle of her parent's divorce while they try to get custody of her. She was often called “stupid” or being “thick” (another word for being dumb in British) by her father, she would often run to her headmistress at school and cry about not being good enough for her family. She grew up struggling with her self-esteem and not believing she was educated enough.
She first met Prince Charles in 1977 while he was dating her older sister Sarah. Diana was 17 at the time but her sister didn’t like the prince very much but Diana did, she even manifested that she was going to marry Prince Charles and she joked about how he was not allowed to divorce her. They begin courting and the couple was engaged when Diana was 19 years old and Prince Charles was 32, the age difference was quite visible but they didn’t care. All seemed to look great on the outside until a reporter had ask Charles if she was in love with Diana to which he replied very nonchalantly “whatever in love means” when he said that Diana was right by his side and you can see her face turning red and she looked disappointed. She thought that was a weird answer, and I think that should’ve been a sign for her not to marry the prince but she married him anyway 3 weeks later. All eyes were fixated on Diana, she was very beautiful and tall. She had the most amazing eyes, it was as if she was looking right into your soul making you feel understood when you talked to her. Although I’ve never met her, and I’ve never been to the UK she died right after I was born. I would love to see a real-life princess on my tv screen because that’s what she was the people’s princess. When there were so many misconceptions about HIV and AIDS and people wouldn’t even speak to someone who had HIV she was seen at a hospital shaking hands and hugging a patient who was carrying the virus, she did not judge anyone and she did not let a disease be an excused to treat someone poorly.
Prince Charles treated her poorly just a few years into their marriage he had gone back to a woman he was seeing right before he asked Diana to marry him. From a tape recording, Diana said that her stepfather blessed prince Charles union with the woman named Camila, saying if his marriage with Diana didn’t work out he could go back to Camilla in 5 years! How shocking is that!? All of that was just a show, he really didn’t love Diana?
She felt so alone in her castle away from everyone and with a man who didn’t love her, who so clearly admitted to being in love with another woman. She had suffered from abandonment, bulimia, and depression.
I feel for Diana and every time I watch her interviews I can see just how much pain she was in during those times in her life. She was blessed with 2 beautiful boys but it’s so sad that she couldn’t see them grow old.
Some people criticized her for leaving the marriage and for being with another man, I have no opinion on that except that her story made me a bit skeptical about a man’s intention regarding marriage. I do love princess Diana’s grace and style, she was also Michael Jackson’s friend and they had so much in common too. They used to speak for hours on the phone and I wonder what they talked about! Maybe they loved each other anyway MJ did say Diana was his type. But her tragic death put an end to everything… her story was very sad but she was a very strong woman. I just wished she had been more careful.
Such a beautiful lady.
