" Love is not the presence of admiration nor is it the absence of hate,
but rather the constant reminder that hate is closer than ever yet we choose to admire its intensity without letting it be known.
for there is no love without hatred."

Our mere existence and how we came to be about is such a big mystery to many, some even believe that we are part of some evolution. Rather than accepting that God created us many want to believe that we descended from apes, which if you ask me is quite insulting to even compare our complicated brain to a living monkey! nevertheless, if I started from where we came from we might never fully understand ourselves individually.
Personally, I don't think that anyone can fully know themselves entirely because we are very unpredictable creatures and our brains are wired with such complications that we could never compare two people and expect them to react the same way. In my 25 years on earth, I have never had a moment where I knew how my life would turn out in the future just because I knew who I was; why? because life itself is unpredictable and we go through so many experiences that can change our way of thinking that we constantly have to analyze who we are as a person to fully understand why we act the way that we act. Our upbringing and our childhood surely play a big role in who we are as an adult, why we love the way we love, or why we love or hate certain things more than other people. Our Genetic coding also plays a role in our personality, I was reading a book by Susan Cain where she was describing how a child born from 2 introverted parents might grow up to be introverted, perhaps not entirely the same form of introversion but the child will surely be part of the high reactive temperament, but the similarity might differ because the child also has his own experience with life that will also shape his character as well as his ability to react to certain things a different way than his parents might've.
To get to know yourself I think that it is essential for you to take a trip down memory lane in your childhood and to also try to remember what the relationship was like between you and your caregiver. Were you neglected? did you receive any form of affection? were you smothered with love or spoiled? or was it stable and your caregiver made sure to always take care of your emotional needs as well as your physical needs?. Often times we blame ourselves because we have a hard time expressing love but it may not always be our fault... If we didn't grow up with parents that expressed their love verbally as well as through some form of action it may be hard for you to do otherwise. I think that if you are concerned about the way you love or interact with other people it might be best to find out your attachment style which will shed some light on why you may be afraid of intimacy or some form of closeness, why you are so keen on being autonomous or independent, why you depend on other people's affection or why you avoid it; there are 4 forms of attachment which are
Taking some time to analyze which form of attachment is associated with you will not only help your relationship but will help you see the areas that you need to improve. There is no shame in communicating your struggles with someone you care about but of course, if you have an avoidant attachment style it might be hard to even speak about your flaws out loud with just anyone and you might not know what they are either because you dismiss the idea of something being more complicated than you actually thought... there is no judgment. We all struggle and trying to get to know yourself may be a lonely and painful path but brace yourself as you dig deep.

Stop romanticizing pain and getting comfortable being hurt, leave at the first sign of any attempt to be manipulated because choosing to stay is an opportunity to be groomed for further manipulation.

« The abuse caused by a narcissist often gets dismissed in the eyes of an empath. They feel the pain, they cry yet they make excuses and choose to hear what they want to hear. Until one day by the grace of God they wake up and realize what a mess they are in to finally see how bad they’ve been mistreated. »

« Je fais semblant d’attraper l’amour pendant que je ne sais même pas ce que je dois faire avec.
peut être que le fait de juste aimer quelqu’un ne me suffit pas,
et pourtant l’absence de l’amour me rend folle.
je veux l’avoir quand c’est nécessaire mais je n’arrive toujours pas à savoir le temps approprié »
