Little women.
This movie is the one that came out in 2019 which is a coming-of-age movie and yes I did watch it because my one and only crush Timothee chalamet is in there. I actually bought the movie because I love it so much. If you loved reading or watching pride and prejudice then please go watch it, but you have to either rent it out or buy it because it is a very hard-to-find treasure.
The story plays out with the main character Jo who is a strong-minded, so brave, stubborn, and inspiring young lady who was so beautiful inside and out. She was a very talented writer who sells her story anonymously for $20 just so she could help out her family. She had three sisters: Amy, Beth, and Meg; they were all beautiful and full of life. Meg was the oldest, Amy the middle child, and Beth the youngest. One day Laurie shows up played by the handsome Timothee chalamet and he was interested in Jo a whole lot. They used to play, dance, and fight all the time; they were like best friends who actually looked like a couple. But Jo always dreamed of being free and following her dream as a writer, she had no plans of marrying anyone but Laurie was falling helplessly each time they spend time together. The whole family witness their friendship and anyone would think that one day they were going to eventually marry each other.
Beth the youngest loved to play piano and one day Laurie's uncle gifted Beth a very nice piano but her sisters had to get her out of the house so that they could bring the piano inside. While she was out she visited the neighbors and one of the children was sick with Scarlet fever and she caught it. She became very ill and with the family not having enough means to take care of her they couldn't bring her overseas to get treated so her fate was doomed. The family decided that she would stay at home and they would take care of her so she could recover.
Meg the oldest was sent out in the world as they would do for all the young ladies when it was time for them to find a husband. She did not find anyone suitable to her taste but little did she know that the love of her life was right next door if only she had given him a chance. Eventually, she came back home and the man next door proved to be an angel and a man suited to conquer her heart. she fell for him and they would marry right away, so she married for love.
Jo didn't want to get married as she always say she never find the idea of marriage to be appealing to her, she would feel trapped. After Meg's wedding, Laurie decided to confess his undying love for Jo but she turned him down and Laurie was so devastated that he wanted to die. He said, " I only love you Jo I can never love anyone else" (that made me cry) but Jo was right to turn him down because she did not feel the same and she didn't want to lie to him. She wanted Laurie to be happy and she knew that the marriage wouldn't have been the right thing for them. Laurie left and went back to Europe, leaving Jo sad but determined to chase her dream.
Amy loved to draw so she went to France with her aunt to find a suitable mate to marry because she wanted to marry for money and she had already had someone in mind Named Fred. While she was there she ran into Laurie and she was so excited to see him, he was also happy to see her. They would spend some time together and she would draw him, but one day he asked her not to marry Fred with the intent that she should marry him instead. She felt taken aback by his request but she also felt disgusted because that would mean that she was second best next to Jo and that he only ask her that because he couldn't get the girl of his dreams. she was mad at him for treating her this way because she always loved him despite that he used to love Jo but she could not say yes to Fred either when he had asked her to marry him because she loves Laurie too much. Sadly, Beth passed away while Amy was in France and she had to go back home to her family. On her way back Laurie came and she told him that she said no to Fred but she told him that she did not expect him to marry her; he looked at her and kissed her with so much intensity that it was undeniably obvious that he was quite smitten with her! they were so excited that they got married on their way back. So she married for love and wealth because Laurie was also rich.
Jo was devastated to see her sister Beth go, she began to wonder if she had made the wrong choice with turning Laurie down because she felt so lonely and empty. But when her mother asked her if she loved him, she could not respond because she would only marry him because she just wants to be loved but her mother reminded her that "loving someone is not the same thing as being loved" but she felt too lonely to care. she wrote him a later to tell him how much she miss him and how she regretted not marrying him, she put the letter in the little box they used to share letters when they were younger at their tree house because she knew that Laurie was coming back. But when he came he told her that he married her sister Amy and that they couldn't wait; she was shocked and a little sad but she wanted to be happy for her sister because she had already lost one. She went back and take her letter back because Laurie was already married. so she throws herself in her writing and she finally wrote a beautiful novel called "little women" and she had it published...
It was a beautiful movie and perhaps my favorite one, you should watch it although I told you what happened if you watch the movie you will love it even more. There are some scenes I just simply could not describe because you would have to see it for yourself ! so please check it out :)
