Hey Guys,
Remember How I said that I am going to read more this year, well I am but that is not what I am going to talk about because as you all know I encourage each one of us and myself included to "just do it" instead of talking about it. I am going to help some of you with finding fun books and articles to read even if it's on the internet, although I do not like digital books but I do read articles on the internet quite often and it is very rewarding.
- Before you can develop a love for reading or even begin to establish a habit for reading daily or more frequently you have to first find out what topics interest you because if you don't like the book you are reading chances are you are not going to finish it. Find a book that is so interesting that you can't put the book down without finishing the last chapter. If you find yourself reading while cooking, or while doing laundry just because you love the book so much then you are on the perfect road to becoming a voracious reader.
- Start with small books and then work your way up to harder topics, for example at first I started reading period drama books and that topic interests me because I love romance. If you are a guy and science seems to interest you more then opt for a fun scientific book... If you are spiritual then start reading the bible, try to pick your favorite bible character, and find out everything you can about this character. Although you should read your bible daily if you are spiritual even if you are reading other books! But reading the bible can be fun too.
some apps that can make reading more fun.
1. Blinkist: this app basically summarizes the book for you by giving you blinks and the key ideas so you don't have to read the whole book if you don't like reading. So there is no excuse for not reading! even if you don't like to read you can still try and this app is the perfect way to start. You can also listen to books on the app while traveling or doing chores!
2. Medium: This app gives you fun articles to read about a broad range of topics that you can pick from when you are signing up to get started. This app also allows you to write articles and get paid for the number of viewers who visit your page, I also write on there too :)
I only use those apps but there are a lot of other apps that can make reading more fun and entertaining. If you like hardcover books like I do, you can look for fun books ideas on a topic that pique your interest on Pinterest and let me tell you they will give you a lot of great books! and you can purchase them on Amazon or at a bookstore near you!

Past and present
The way things are going currently, I really wish I was born in the ’70s because I love that era. Especially in 1983 when Michael Jackson moonwalked for the first time, I wish I was alive to see it on national television. But besides my love for Michael, I really wish I was alive because of the way life was!
Can you imagine that cellphones were not so popular, there would have been a house phone and if someone wanted to see me they would either have to write a letter or come see me. I do not like how cellphones make everything so easy now, the fact that I am part of generation Z and I am saying this is quite shocking!
I do love electronics but I really don’t like the fact that it’s taking so much space in our lives. I love an actual book more than a digital book, to make it worse now you don’t even have to read anymore you can just listen to an audiobook or scan through an article to get everything you need. Where did the morning paper go? I love that idea! I think it was so cool to just wait for the paperboy to drop it off in the morning and you can just go outside with your bathrobe with a coffee mug in hand to pick it up at your front door. Well, now you get it on your phone or just use google!
Google makes everything so easy and I guess I should be grateful but sometimes I just wish that I could do the work myself, like walking to a library to do my own research! I barely do that now because everything I need is on the internet! Talking about being lazy.
I love the kinds of music back then, they had a story and not just a naked girl with a thong on the screen. Girls used to cover up and had respect for themselves. Everyone was so well-spoken and more respectful, they didn’t use words of profanity that often when they were speaking to an elderly or someone with authority. I love that writing letter was so popular! And I didn’t just have to send a text replying “k” like what is that??
I know some of my friends say that I am too deep but really it’s because my mind is living in another era. I don’t love like the people in the 21st century, the amount of work I am willing to do and the intensity of it doesn’t match anyone I ever met…
