If you went to watch the movie like I was saying yesterday, you're a sweetheart! but if you didn't that's okay maybe you didn't see the post but here's your chance to watch the movie...it's no longer available on Netflix but it's on HBO and if you can't watch it that's also fine lol just keep reading. I will never be able to spoil everything because the movie was magical itself.
I don't watch Christmas movies and I don't think that this is one, it's true that it took place during the holiday and the movie started with them shopping at a store but I shop during Christmas even though I don't celebrate it. There was no mention of the holiday or the importance of it whatsoever. John was shopping for a scarf and Sara was shopping for a pair of gloves, after they purchased the items they went to get ice cream or milkshake I don't remember. They started talking and bonding but they both were already in a relationship, John wanted to get Sara's number regardless that she was already in a relationship and he said I quote "just in case it doesn't work out" but Sara was a big believer in fate and she believe that if she let him go without giving him her number and somehow if they were able to meet again in this big City called New York where there is a lot of people then it would be fate that they were meant for each other. At this point they are still complete strangers and she did not give him her number as she left to get in a cab... but later on they ran into each other was it by mistake? I don't think so but John seemed to have drop his scarf and Sara was the who found it out of nowhere and while she was holding his scarf he found her and she gave him his scarf (in a romantic type of way ). They were both shocked that they were able to see each other again that soon, so they went ice skating and they discussed movies, their likes and dislikes and a lot of fun topics. It looks like they were bounding and having a great time but at the end of their little outing he ask her for her number. She wrote the number on a piece of paper and right when she was about to give him the paper the wind blew it away, she was very skeptical about it to the point where she believed that maybe they weren't supposed to stay in contact. John tried to convince her otherwise but they both agreed that he can write his number on a $5, after he handed her the money with his name on it she went and spend it on a candy or some sort; he was surprised that she did that but she said if she was able to get that $5 again with his number then she will call him ! (insane) anyway they both agree and she could also write her number in a book and left it at a bookstore, she says that if he came across that book then he can call her.
So they both went back to their lives, Sara went back to another City and her boyfriend proposed so now they are supposed to get married. John on the other hand went back to his girlfriend and he proposed to her so now they are supposed to get married. But somehow they both can't seemed to shake the memories of each other and they don't even know each other's name either. Sara became a bit sentimental and she couldn't focus on the wedding plans so she decided to go back to New York to meet a guy she has no idea what his name was, or where he lives. She went to New York with her bestfriend out looking for John while john is out looking for her everywhere, they almost ran into each other a couple of times and that was frustrating to watch. Sara even ran into John's fiancé without knowing, but after different strategies to see each other again that didn't seemed to work they both decided to give up. While Sara was on her way back home she saw the $5 John wrote his name on while she was on the plan, disbelieve she took the $5 and finally find out that his name was John! meanwhile John's fiancé bought him a pre-wedding present and it was the book that Sara wrote her number in! he was shocked and lost for words; he was now sure than ever that him and Sara was definitely meant for each other. So he called off the wedding and now he was alone he went for a walk but found a female jacket on a bench he took it with him; as he started walking he saw the ice rank he went with Sara as he went in there it started snowing so he lay on the ground as the snow fell on his face and he was thinking of her. Sara found out that he had called off the wedding and as her bestfriend was leaving to go back home she told her to go inside because it's cold and as she is standing outside in the cold without a jacket! I don't know if she remember the jacket she left on the bench or whatever but she started walking! and John who was at the ice rank with one pair of glove found the other pair of glove, when he found the other glove he turned around and there she was !!! omg and they shook hands in a romantic and magical way. They exchange their name finally and that was it !!!
Like how is that not magical? I know that it's just a movie and it's very unrealistic but the poet in me think that it's totally possible to come across this type of love even if we are in the century of facetime, snapchat and text messages it is still possible to experience an old school love :)
