Gen z
Known as the zoomers which is anyone born late 1996 to 2012, I am somewhere in there because I was born in the last days of 1996. This generation is tech savvy, fast consumers, they had cellphones or even smartphones at an early age. They communicate through social media and video chats. They spend more time on their phone than outside or watching television.
Older generation had house phone, landline and television, radio, cassettes, dvd, vinyl record, boom box etc… but gen z has streaming access to any song on the internet, music apps and they barely listen to the radio. I think gen Z’s are really funny and most millennials find us annoying.
What I love about gen z is that we are open about our mental health and struggles even if we make a tiktok using comedy to mask our pain but we all can relate to it. I love that about us, millennials used to be more serious before us but gen z are outspoken, free spirited but we are not perfect, we take longer to get married or have children because we have so much things that we want to do.
We are not housewives or stay at home moms we fight for equality between the sexes ( that’s another discussion) personally I think all us have our own strength.
Gen z makes it okay to change gender, hook up culture is born, cancel culture, they are trying to abolished the abortion law which is sickening because I am against abortion and I am pro-life, there are so many messed up things that gen z made everyone think that it is okay to do just because they want to feel free and « unique » that’s the only thing I hate about this generation.
Being a gen z I have my emotional support animals and most millennials just cannot comprehend that but it is not my job to make them understand.
Uhm that’s all I have to say for now …

Rihanna’s new music « lift me up »!
Y’all already know that I was freaking out when she dropped that song, I was so happy to listen to it and I was not disappointed. I really love her new song, I can feel her emotion and I cried while listening to it because it is also a tribute to Chadwick Boseman from black panther. Many people say they don’t like the song and I truly believe that their taste has been ruined by those new artist who only sing about big butts and sex, because Rihanna dropped a song with a deeper meaning than what those new artist rap about.
I have been a fan of Rihanna ever since I was 13, I always looked forward to listen to her songs because her voice is unique and I just love her style and aesthetic. Gosh I have been a fan of her more than I was of Beyoncé, I just like Rihanna more. I really love that she dropped a new song and I am looking forward to an album because that’s when I’m going to lose my marbles lol

Why can’t I get a boyfriend?
I used to ask myself that question not too long ago and I used to stressed myself over what I was doing wrong. I would even make a list of all the past mistakes that I have made in the past just so I wouldn’t repeat them again. As I get older and now that I am 25 years old, I realize that I was asking myself the wrong question all along.
Wanting to get a significant other is totally normal because God created all of us in pairs so it is right for you to feel the need of a companion. I have had many boy best friend or close friends and some of them I’ve always wanted to date but as a woman I realize that I was too eager, too desperate to make a guy fall for me. After they fall, what would be next? Do I even see myself with this guy in a marriage for 10 years? Do I even love him or am I really looking for validation?
If you want to date someone ask yourself those questions and really answer them truthfully and please do not hold back! Be honest with yourself. I don’t want to be in a relationship with a man that I am too in love with anymore because I realize when you care too much and when you love too much in the end you’re the one who’s going to get hurt and the person who cares less just end up not caring about how you feel at all.
There is more to life than a relationship, I would be totally okay if I die without ever been in a relationship as long as I know that I did everything I ever wanted.
You could be in a relationship with someone and they don’t even know you or worse they don’t even love you like that. Nowadays people date just for the sake of being with someone.
There are people who will truly want you for who you are, and they will love you for YOU not for your body, your beauty or anything superficial like that.
Being desperate will not get you in a relationship that will feed your soul because you will be the one doing the most, caring the most and you will end up feeling drained and broken. Take your time, fall in love with yourself. Take time to get to know yourself, because you have to love yourself first before you should allow anyone to love you.
Reasons why you should love yourself first
- If you don’t love yourself you will give yourself to the wrong person and you will not what love is supposed to feel like.
- You will become too available, too caring, and you will get attached to someone who might end up leaving you.
- You will look to them for validation when that should be coming from you and no one else.
Whoever you are please take care of yourself. Be around people who truly love and care about you because you deserve to be loved in the utmost way.

Fashion + weight + skin + hair and mental health
I am not perfect and I am sure that my flaws are quite visible to a lot of people well I may be wrong about that because I do in fact struggle with anxiety so I would always look at myself through the eyes of others and it took a lot out of me to only look at myself and my life into my very own perspective. I am sure that someone else has struggled with that. I am finally at a point in my life where I don't want to hide anymore, I want to make a difference and share with other people all the beauty secrets that I know and that I have tried.
let's start with fashion, I love shopping for clothes and I love expressing myself through my unique style; some people love it and some people may not but that is their problem. I mostly shop for clothes online because I hate the mall and I hate going shopping; I always feel so drained when I go out shopping. I love being in the comfort of my bed when I shop for clothes and shoes, it took me a while to figure out what my size is because most of my life I have been a very petite girl but I have gotten taller and I have gained weight in some places that required me to switch up my style. I think fashion is an art form and it is a beautiful way to present yourself outwardly. I think that my style has evolved and now that I am older I have been dressing up more like a woman than a school girl. I think that for a long time I have been into that preppy schoolgirl look but now I am leaning more toward outfits that are more mature. some of the shop that I love online are: pretty little thing, romwe, cider, boohoo, Asos, zaful, princess polly and many other fashion websites that are affordable and fit my taste.
To maintain my weight I don't really have a strict diet but there are a lot of things that I don't eat anymore simply because I am not doing any weight training at the moment and I do my workout sessions at home mostly, it's not like a big workout I try to incorporate some ab workout, butt workouts, and upper body strength, I also do a lot of stretching to help me be more flexible. My diet consists of a lot of potatoes especially roasted sweet potatoes, spinach, broccoli, stir fry, vegetable yellow rice, salmon, chicken breast stuffed with zucchini and shredded cheese mostly cheddar lol, fried shrimp with spinach, beef soup with carrots, boiled potatoes, spinach and all of that good stuff. I do try to eat healthily but one thing that I have always struggled with is using less salt in my food because I have a salty tooth and that's not a good thing ! I don't drink soda I have this Italian orange drink that I bought at target that kind of tastes like soda and I usually go for that when I really want a soda. But I am not perfect so here in there, I would indulge in some locos tacos at taco bell or a big cheeseburger at burger king and I may get a diet coke on my cheat days. I don't want to be skinny but I also don't want to be overweight so I try to be somewhere in the middle because baby gotta have back. My weight goes up and down but never too low that people would notice a big change except after my weight loss journey last year which was major but now I just try to keep it balanced!
Most of you know that I have struggled with hormonal acne in the past and I have been very open about it because it did take a toll on my self-confidence but now that I am on a journey to build it all from scratch and my skin is also a lot better than what it was from last year. To say that I have gotten rid of my acne with a particular skincare routine would be a lie! I actually went to a dermatologist and after many rounds of treatments and medication my skin did get a lot better so thanks to her. I have a very simple routine I only use the cerave bar soap on my face and I still use the topical creams that my dermatology prescribed me. I only wear makeup 3 times a week maximum and I don't wear makeup to work because I wear a mask all day and sweat combined with the makeup could irritate anyone's skin. I also never wear any makeup to bed and I try to wash my face every night. I also try to drink a lot of water as well to flush out all the toxins in my skin because I don't want to look bloated.
I have 4 A type of hair which is very kinky, coil, and it is a really big afro. I think that my hair shrinks up a lot and most people never really know how long my hair is because I always cut it and I don't normally straighten it. To keep my hair healthy I don't use any heat on my hair, I deep conditioned it once a week when I am not doing a protective hairstyle, My hair grows a lot more when it's in braids and not being manipulated too often. I take great pride in my beautiful hair, I think that God created black women with afros so that it looks like a beautiful crown on our heads. I pray that I have a daughter someday so that I can teach her the beauty in her natural hair.
Mental health is such a wide topic but is a conversation that many people don't feel comfortable discussing whether it is on the internet or with anyone. But I have always been vocal about mental health in general and about my own struggle with high-functioning depression and anxiety because I know that many people have the struggles as me and they may not choose to talk about it but when I let them know that they are not alone maybe I can be an example well I hope that I am because I wish that all of us could be open about our struggles and stop faking behind perfect relationships, beautiful pictures or career goals which are all good things but when we used those things to mask our pain all of that means nothing, it just looks like a beautiful mess. Mental health is extremely important to me because I have hit rock bottom countless times and I did get back up with the help of God and my mom as well. I think having a relationship with God is what keeps me alive, just by knowing that I am not alone and he is watching over me, that he has a plan for each and every one to wipe away our tears and pain helps me to keep going and that gives me hope.

Weary.
I have been to this place before and I always stood up and dust myself off. I don’t ever want to throw in the towel, truly I just want to find the peace that I deserve. I’ve allowed myself to be vulnerable, allowed myself to say that I am not as strong as I appear to be and that In fact I do need a hug, I’ve allowed myself to cry and mourn the loss of what once were. No amount of money, fame can make all of this pain go away.
It’s easy to say that I am okay when someone ask you how you are because it’s an open ended question; I can chose to lie and say that I am fine or I can tell you exactly what’s going on. In this day in age when you just open to someone about all the pain you feel inside it’s considered as « trauma dumping » it’s so hard to find someone that you can feel free enough to share your pain to; most people want to piggy back on your pain and say oh yeah I’ve felt this way too and I know exactly what you’re feeling; in some way that can be encouraging but in that moment when someone just let themselves be vulnerable to you they want to hear that they are going to be okay, that it’s not the end and that life has so much more to offer. We all know that pain doesn’t last forever but at times we tend to forget that fact and dwell on it and even let ourselves get drown into our own sorrow because that’s what we’re used to.
It takes courage to admit that you are not strong, that you need help, that you need someone to be there for you because the most coward thing you could do is pretend that you are okay and just give up on yourself. Wanting to get better mentally shows true bravery, I used to not be able to let myself be vulnerable or to not tell someone the whole truth about what I am feeling; but I am learning that being vulnerable is the most beautiful act of bravery it shows that I am open to change, open to get better and not accept where I’m at even if it may take years before I finally heal from all the pain that I feel inside.
You are not alone, together we can stand strong. :)
