Things I love and hate at the gym but mostly things I love because I don't have many things I hate.
Things I love: seeing the same people I normally work out with at the same time we normally meet because I genuinely worry when I don't see the regulars I wonder if they're ok or if they're sick! and when I see them, I say hey and smile at them because you never really know what someone is going through. When someone who takes working out seriously stop that's a major red flag and it shows they're not okay because working out is important to them and you can see it on their physique. You can see all of their hard work and their dedication when they walk by. I love working out next to them they're so motivated and sometimes I copy some of their exercises and they copy mines too which is fine because I love them without knowing who they are but just because we work out together it's enough for me to admire them from afar of course.
I don't like working out with people: I don't mind going to the gym with someone but give me 1 hour to get my hard exercises out the way and then we will work out together after. I don't like talking in between my sets, the gym is not for socializing it's my safe place. I don't talk; I don't engage in anything other than working out. once I put my music on and I lock in just leave me alone we'll talk after. I also don't mind if you're working on the machine next me or you just do what I do in silence, I don't mind at all.
I like when all my exercises are hitting the right spot! I can feel it in the muscle group I'm working out in. If I am working my glutes during isolation workout, I like to hold each glute a little bit to feel the contraction don't judge me! it's nothing sexual I just like to feel my muscles engage during my work out. sometimes people stare but I don't care lol
I don't like when a man talks to me: as I said before I don't like to engage in anything other than working out at the gym unless you are approaching me to give me tips on my form or telling me I dropped something then don't talk to me. It has happened a few times and all those times I was super annoyed! first time I was extremely rude, and I felt bad after so now I just say "I can't talk right now I am working out maybe later" knowing damn well as soon as I'm done, I'll be running out of there like Usain bolt.
