I finally cracked the code!
I have so many things that I want to do throughout the day that there isn't enough time for me to do all of them after work. But I found a way around it, my saying is " a little is better than nothing at all".
For instance, after work, I have to rest a little, have a snack then go to the gym, cook dinner then rest a little, journal, read and watch some tv? there's not much time because my bedtime is before 11pm and I spend at least 2 hours at the gym. I used to skip journaling and reading just to watch TV, but I realized I was struggling with my vocabulary a lot more when I am speaking. when you don't read, you forget a lot of words and when you are speaking the words you are looking for may not always come up if you don't take some to figure what you want to say without using replacement words such as "like, thingy.." I need to read more to learn more descriptive words to use when I am speaking. when I am writing it's easier because I have time to think and look up the words I am looking for either online or in a dictionary. It should not be this hard for me to speak clearly when I already know so many words! but because I wasn't reading enough my brain was lazy! reading is a workout for your brain, it enriches your vocabulary. Lately I have been reading every night and it's been tough even though I love reading! because my routine was watching TV until it's time for bed and that's not good or productive at all. Journaling was also hard for me, but I have been journaling religiously every night since mid-january! now it's easier and my journal is almost full soon enough I will be buying a new journal. My journals have not been full in years, I always had 10-20 blank pages left at the end of the year because I love getting a new journal every new year. This year I will know what I did each day and what happened on what day, I love to go back and look how much I've grown or change :)
Having a routine that helps me with my journaling and my reading really makes me really happy. At first, I prioritize writing just 1 page in my journal but now I can write as many pages as I want! but as long as I write at least 1 page I've accomplish more than enough. Your routine should be small, don't give yourself a big task but rather start small because a little goes a long way. Remember that at first you weren't doing it at all so doing just a little bit is better than nothing!
