I’m watching the Mexican series “Lo que la vida me robó” y’all know how I like my novelas ! lol anyway I started watching this the last time I visited Haiti in 2015 and I used to stay up to watch it. Now I’m watching it in French.
Honestly here’s my honest opinion. The main characters are Monserrat Mendoza , Jose Luis Alvarez, Alejandro Almonte and yes it is a love triangle. Monserrat is in love with Jose Luis who’s in the army. Jose Luis doesn’t have any money, Monserrat is from a rich family but they are facing financial ruins; they practically have nothing but they live in a mansion because they used to be rich. Monserrat is very beautiful she’s the same actress who played Teresa so you know I’m already in love!
Alejandro inherited all of his father money making him a millionaire but he didn’t grow up in luxury. He used to work as a foreman for his father and he didn’t know the man was his dad until he was dying. Alejandro is soooo hot he also played the professor Teresa was in love with ( also they’re married in real life! Couple goals! Their chemistry is sooo beautiful on screen) anyway back to the story. I never liked Jose Luis for Monserrat but I recognize the love they shared, it was her first love and it was very deep. But Jose Luis always find an excuse to not talk to Monserrat’s father because he’s supposed to ask for her hand in marriage. He keeps making promises but he never comes through, he has no money so he can’t take care of her. Money is not everything but in his case he has none, he can’t sustain Monserrat.
Alejandro is very intentional and I love him for Monserrat. Right off the bat he spoke to Monserrat’s father about courting her, he made sure Monserrat has everything she needs, he sent her flowers. He’s loyal to her, he respects her and he understands her. Monserrat wasn’t in love with him in the beginning and he knew that so he never pressured her ( I’m still watching the beginning of their story I know it will get ugly but either way I love Alejandro for Monserrat)
Jose Luis is framed for a murder so there’s no way Monserrat’s family will let him marry her. He’s dedicated to her, but he was never frank with her. He was always afraid to lose her so he wasn’t completely honest about everything and that pushed them apart. He loves her a lot! He’s obsessed with her but his love for her is ruining him. If he wasn’t in love with her, he would be fine because her family wouldn’t have framed him for murder. He should’ve stayed away from her, some love are forbidden and this one is. But you know what? Let me not put my 2 cents in because I know a lot about forbidden love.
