Onyx storm was somewhat an interesting read. It felt like the longest book I’ve read so far because the story line was dragging a little bit. It’s always how Violet has to save xaden from turning more into a venin, her fighting to keep everyone safe. Her back being blown out by xaden here and there which was sooo annoying because I don’t like reading about sex. It’s annoying, it takes away from the story line but Heyy a lot of people love spice so that would work for them. I love subtle romance, yearning, a gentle and lingering kiss, a light touch here and there just like in the powerless series.
What I don’t like about this book is how whenever violent is fighting her dragon Tairn is always 5 minutes out ! Like where is he going?! They are on a battlefield but a couple times the attacks were unexpected but what do you mean you’re just casually dropping your human off on a battlefield to go somewhere else?! And do what? Everyone hates Dain and it’s palpable lol but that was violet’s best friend growing up so they tolerated him.
Andarna violet’s second dragon left with her family but at the end she did come back. She’s more powerful now, she’s still a kid but she’s stronger now. Violet also has a second signet just like xaden and bodhi (xaden’s cousin) her signet is dream walking meaning she can walk into anyone’s dream and see what’s going on. Xaden can read minds but we already went over that, he did promise Violet that he would never read her mind without permission or invade her privacy.
At the end xaden had to Chanel more power during a battle so he became even more venin with more red veins around his eyes, so he left with his dragon. Violet woke up with a ring on her finger so is she married? Some dragons are dead! Violet can’t remember anything and people are asking her where’s xaden because he killed some dragons and riders ! Would xaden do this? Well I don’t know the next book hasn’t come out. It will be out by 2027! Dude but that’s ok this series wasn’t my favorite
