Yesterday I thought about joining a football adult tournament near me and I choose to go to a football gear store to look at my options and I was shocked! Why is everything so expensive ? I didn’t even check out the cleats! I just stopped at the jerseys ! One jersey was $72 forget it, if it was from someone famous like Mbappe, Messi or neymar ! Those jersey probably cost close to $200 ! (I didn’t even bother to look because I already know they are even more expensive)
One Manchester city baseball cap was $43 uhm is that hat going to protect me from the UV rays of the sun? Am I not supposed to get wet in the rain with that hat? Because there is no way a hat should be that expensive ! Then when I was walking around looking for the things that I would need if I decide to go play soccer the guys at the store were looking at me weird like I’m lost or something! First of all I probably know more about football than they do! They even put a huge Jack Grealish poster out front! Like what?? They should’ve put someone better like Mbappé, Messi or even Haaland, or Jude Bellingham or Kevin de Bruyne, or even Saka … there are so many other players they could put out front! I mean I like Jack Grealish but he is not all that.
They even put Mbappe’s jersey in the wrong section! They put him in the la liga section! La liga is Barcelona and Real Madrid which that’s all they had ! I mean I get it but he is part of ligue 1 and they have nothing else for ligue 1 they didn’t even have any Arsenal jersey ! They had a neymar Brazil jersey but neymar doesn’t play anymore! They even had a psg Jersey for neymar and he’s not even in that club anymore ! there are so many things wrong in that store!
When the guys were staring at me i wished I said “ do you guys have a saka jersey” and when they say no I would’ve said “ oh so you don’t have any arsenal jerseys here? Oh wow shocking” lol mind you I’m not even an arsenal fan lol but I would say that to show them their store is not even all that and they barely got anything.
I hate this stereotype ! So because I’m a woman I’m not supposed to be interested in sports? Well I am ! Does that make me masculine? No I don’t think so. I genuinely like football and I always did I just didn’t have the chance to watch games but once I saw the final World Cup match and saw how Mbappé played I realized football is no longer the same! It’s actually even more interesting… by the way I never was an Argentine fan in the national teams I always liked France and Brazil … I still am to this day. I probably know more about football than some guys because I spend a lot of time watching games and learning the rule of the game! like I can tell when there should be a penalty, a corner, I also know the offside rule … I like what I like and that’s it.
