If you have trouble sleeping at night this is for you❤️

Psalm 4: 8 “I will lie down and sleep in peace, For you alone, O Jehovah, make me dwell in security.”

A lot of us have difficulty sleeping at night especially when are stressed or going through a difficult situation but David tells us that our sleep can be sweet no matter what kind of difficulty we face. Don’t ever try to solve your problems by thinking about then over and over; instead take the time you would spend worrying and pray for what you need while giving thanks to Jehovah for all the wonderful things he has already done for you.

As you lie in bed thinking about all the goodness of God and all of his promises let yourself drift off to sleep. Stop worrying and give your problems to God, he answer prayers but he doesn’t answer worry and complaints.

A story of faith

Publié par Gaelle.R

The Canaanite woman.

I read this story yesterday with new set of eyes. You can find the full reading in Matthew 15:21-31.

The story begins with Jesus withdrawing to Tyre and Sidon during his busy time in ministry. But a woman comes out to him and shouts “Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David. My daughter is cruelly demon possessed.” The cry of this woman came from a deep love and care for her daughter. Her cry came from a place of agony and mixed with complete faith that Jesus would be able to help her daughter. The faith of this woman is evident because she puts herself in a very dangerous situation considering she is a gentile woman among a group of Jewish men, she is crossing a social boundary by speaking up to a group with more cultural power than she has. Initially she is met with silence because Jesus said nothing!

The silence holds within her hopes, fears and anxiousness. Filled with complete faith and emotions she persist with her pleading so much that the disciples beg Jesus to send her away.

But Jesus said in return “I was not sent to anyone except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” Which encourages the woman to keep begging Jesus to save her daughter. She’s well aware of the line she was crossing but she kept begging Jesus and kneeling before him to save her daughter. Jesus said harshly “It is not right to take the bread of the children and throw it to the little dogs”  Jesus build a wall and compared the mother to the likes of dogs! But without any pride or embarrassment the woman respond “Yes, Lord, but really the little dogs do eat of the crumbs falling from the table of their masters”  the woman refused to be sent away and to allow social norms stopped her from getting what she needed from Jesus and because of this she is rewarded ! And Jesus replied to her ““O woman, great is your faith; let it happen to you as you wish” and the woman’s daughter is healed immediately!

This story reminds me to NEVER STOP PRAYING especially when I need something from God. No one knows why Jesus was harsh to the woman at first perhaps it was to show us just how much we should let our faith guide us when we are desperate because the woman did not care that Jesus compared her to a dog! She kept begging and her faith lead her blindly because she did not know if Jesus was going to save her daughter or not but her faith caused her to believe that he would! In difficult situation we tend to let our pride dictate our actions and if our prayers comes back unanswered we tend to stop praying but I am here to tell you to keep praying ! Day in and day out keep pleading God for what you need and it will be given to you in due time. Have complete faith and draw closer to God.

Book vs the movie

Publié par Gaelle.R

It ends with us.

I read this book in 2022 and when I first read it I felt like I was transported back into another world. I didn’t feel the same after reading that book!

The story is between Lilly bloom, Atlas and the man she married Ryle the charming neurosurgeon.

I cried reading that book! I took a few minutes to myself in between chapters. With the movie coming out this week I already know it won’t be as great as the book was. The movie came out last Friday and I haven’t made any plans to go watch it; maybe I won’t. I remember saying if I know someone who’s going through domestic violence I will give them that book. It is so real! Gut wrenching and soooo accurate to the point where I felt like I was part of the story somehow.

Lilly bloom owns a flower shop and she’s dating Ryle at first everything was great but one day while Lilly was hanging out with Ryle he straight up hit her across the face to the point where she lost consciousness and passed out! When she got up he tried to play it cool and try to put the blame on her by saying things like «  if you hadn’t done that I wouldn’t have hit you » he would apologize ,buy her flowers, hit her again and the cycle would continue!

Until she even married him because she thought that’s the best she could do. One day she met Atlas at a restaurant while dining with her husband and friends, Atlas was an old friend she knew from high school. she was in love with Atlas back in the days. Now Atlas owns the restaurant  she was eating in and he’s doing well for himself.

Atlas was homeless and he was always running away because his family would abused him. Lilly would make sure he has all the things he needed to survive,  he would stay in a old abandoned house next door and Lilly would bring him food and blankets sometimes she would go as far as to have him climb in her room to sleep on the floor on a cozy bed she would make for him during the winter. They started to have feelings for each other and one day as all teenagers with raging hormones do when they are alone they had sex for the very first time and Lilly’s dad walked in on them and beat Atlas almost to death. The police came and took Atlas, they put him in foster care and Lilly never saw him again. Everyone at school was spreading rumors about how she slept with an homeless boy and she hated that! I mean it was true she slept with him and he was in fact homeless but  Atlas was more than that! He was kind, beautiful, lovely, respectful and sooo gentle she loved him so much that so she would write letters. He loved her just as much, he never forgot about her.

Years went by and she’s almost in her 30s now, she’s married to a successful doctor and lives in a penthouse, she also owns a flower shop one could envy her! But she wasn’t happy. She was miserable with an husband who would beat her and she would hide her bruises from everyone. But one day she decided to run away and she ran right into Atlas arms, realizing how much she still loves him. But sadly she had to go back to her husband when she found out she was pregnant! Now a baby was involved she had to make a choice for her and her baby’s safety what would she do?

I don’t want to spoil it for you any more than I’ve already done lol just in case you want to watch the movie or read the book to find out! you should! And there’s another book that came after that “ it starts with us” it’s a really good series minus the sexual scenes I just skip those pages.

You know one thing I love about this book, even though Lilly was miserable she never cheated on her husband with Atlas even if emotionally she was bonded to Atlas she never acted on those feelings. I loved that about her, I loved that she waited !

When I am going through a tough time or living my life in fear I often turn to the word of God because the Bible is my manual and my only guide without it, I cannot function!

Those verses I read recently truly helps me it starts at john 10: 9-18 Jesus started out by saying “ I am the door and whoever enters through me will be saved” which is very reassuring knowing that the way through life is finding Jesus and his creator God. Because whenever Jesus speaks, he always give glory to God because nothing would be possible without the creator of all things whose name is Jehovah.

Verse 10 says “the thief does not come unless it is to steal, slay and destroy” the thief here for me is depression and when I continue reading verse 10 it says that Jesus died for me so that I can enjoy life then why am I living in fear? Why am I sad? Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice by dying for me so that I could have everlasting life and here I am stressing!?

But the verses that really drive it home for me are 12-14 where it states that Jesus is the fine Sheppard and he said “an hired man who is not a shepherd and to whom the sheep does not belong to, sees the wolf coming and abandons the sheep and flees the wolf snatches them and scatters them. Because he is an hired man and he does not care about the sheep!” 14 “ I am the fine shepherd I know my sheep and my sheep know me”

Jesus vowed to protect me because I am his sheep, and he is my Shepherd! Jesus who was given the honor of guiding Jehovahs people is watching over me! I don’t need to be scared I am Jehovah’s daughter I will make it out safe and even when I left Jesus came and found me.

Facts.

  • If I get married it has to be during the winter! Because I’m not getting married in the summer ! He better like it because I rather be cold in my dress than to be sweating! Bro! If I could get married during a snow storm that would be great so that less people would come! I want something intimate just his family and my family plus a couple of close friends and that’s it!  All the people who got married and didn’t invite me won’t be invited to my wedding ( I don’t care if he’s friends with them! If I wasn’t important enough to be invited at your wedding what makes you think you’re coming to mine? Yeah I’m petty like that!)
  • Arabs boys are handsome! I don’t like an hairy man but if he’s Arab I’ll take it. They’re just so confident! So cute! So rough wait hold on …. Uhm I mean sooo animalistic like I love it. They look like wolves!
  • Reading a book is better than watching the actual movie! I remember in high school I’ve wasted months reading the entire pretty little liars series and then read the vampire diaries I was about to read harry porter series but I graduated just in time lol! But I can tell you the book series was wayyyyy better and I was even more in love with the characters.

“The sheer depth of my feelings for him was unhealthy. The adoration, the lust, the downright infatuation I have for him… it was insanity.”
