This is not a recap of this year, this event happened last year but something today made me think about it. Last year I was in a car accident that reshaped my life entirely, It changed my point of view about life and made me realize what was more important. I was living like life didn't mean a thing, like my life couldn't just be taken away from me in a matter of seconds. I was not injured but emotionally I was a wreck, I was alone in that car accident and no one was in the car with me to fully experience what I went through. Some people probably took it lightly like I just went straight into a tree big deal like it's nothing compared to 2 cars crashing or a car flipped over...It was a big deal to me and it still is. I always think of that accident as the moment I realize that life is way more important than I thought, It was the moment that I realize that I needed to get closer to God. For many years I was running away, hiding from the word of God but after the accident, all I wanted to was run to God. I was running full speed towards God, I would search for him every day and I would have so many questions on how to get closer to God.
That accident was a life-changing experience for me, I thought I was going to die and my last thought before I hit that tree was "I'm going to die now I'm going to join my cousin" My cousin had passed away 2 months before the accident. I miss him terribly but at that moment I thought I was going to feel what he felt when he died...I don't know why I thought about that but when I realize that I didn't die it's like I saw death coming straight to me when I lost control of the car on the highway and I just scream and close my eyes. I saw so many things flashed before my eyes...when I got out of the car the only thought that went through my head was God just saved my life and I need to go back to serving Jehovah. I can not let my life go to waste without dedicating my life to him. I cannot just act like that did not happen, I really feel like it was God's way of pulling me to him. I couldn't ignore that call. It's a continuing call, I can feel God intervening in my life more and more even when I don't expect him to.
My message is life is a gift, you're living for a reason because at any given minute your life could be taken away but you're here, so make it count for something. Live life, laugh, eat as much as you want, enjoy the little things, love, forgive because when you die you cannot go with the grudge you're holding, let things that don't meant to be go. Live life as if you're about to die tomorrow because you could. In all of this don't forget to praise God and give Him thanks because you're here because your name is written in the book of life.
