From my time of being on this earth, I've had many dreams and many goals but it's very rare for me to find someone who supports all of my crazy dreams which is sometimes understandable because some of them are unreasonable but it would've been nice to feel supported. I have been writing at a very young age but I started taking it seriously in high school. I was about 5-9 years old when I was writing my mom heartfelt letters, I think she kept some of them and I started journaling at 10 years old. It wasn't the typical kid journal about how what I did at school or who my friends were it was more so about my emotions and feelings. I barely wrote about my friends which is why I kind of forget who some of the people I was acquainted with were when I was young if we were not close. The things I wrote at that age are some of the things I still feel to this day, I can proudly say that as a kid I was mature for my age. I sometimes wonder if I ever thought like a kid? Ok, now we're getting deep let's divert back into the subject of the things that I have yet to experience.
One thing I would love to experience is for someone to fully support my dream of being a writer, not just anyone but someone who is close to me because I get more support from strangers than the people who are close to me. Right out of high school I admit I never told anyone that I just wanted to be a writer because my family didn't support any career path that had to do with art. Silently I hid the burning urge that I have always felt to just drop everything and to just dedicate my life to writing. I went to school and made my way into the world of medicine because at some point in my childhood I had mentioned to my mom that I wanted to be a nurse just like my aunt. I mean it was just a vague desire but it wasn't as strong as the desire I felt about being a writer. It took me many years to fully realize that nothing else would make me happier than to be known as a writer. I have hidden that for so long and I've come to a point where I am confused about which way to go because all I ever wanted to do was to make my way into the world of publishing, editing, and storytelling. No one close to me was supportive enough to let me dive in that direction. I just want to meet someone who truly supports me and encourages me to write because if I didn't push myself I would've stopped writing a long time ago. I used to write in french before I started learning English and in the beginning, my writing piece in English was not my best work but those were the only work I have kept. I lost most of the stories, poems I wrote in French and I used to be so proud of myself for learning English at a fast pace that I would show everyone what I've written even if they were not great. They would criticize me and make me feel like I was not a good writer but despite all of what anyone told me in the past the desire of being a writer has never disappeared.
