answering questions.

Publié par Gaelle.R

hey there, hope all is good. Hopefully, you enjoy these funny answers from questions that you probably didn't ask but I am going to answer them anyway.

  1. what is your morning routine?

Great question. My usual mornings when I am going to work is me waking up to my alarm as soon as it rings because if I wait one more minute I will be late because I do not set my alarm at a reasonable time to chill before I get out of bed and I have to take a shower because that is the only way I am going to wake up. So as soon as I get out of bed I jump right in the shower (is that bad? because I don't know) I usually get dressed fast because I pick what I am going to wear the night before but It will take me a while to find my socks. Lately, I have not been wearing makeup so I just moisturize my face with a small amount of coconut oil with some lip balm and I go right in the kitchen to pick a quick breakfast. Prepare my meal for the day and pray in the car because If I sit down before I leave I will be late, I also eat in the car. Now If I am not working I just sleep through the whole morning so I don't have a routine unless I have something important that morning like a meeting or something.

     2. How is my mental health?

Honestly, I am doing good I have not felt that Good in a long time. I enjoy my time alone and I treasure it. I stay away from negative situations and people. Basically, I took the time to filter out my life during quarantine I let go of any bad connections, bad habits, bad relationships I let everything go. It was only right for me to do it because I have been holding on to old baggage that needed to be thrown away. I am just really taking the time to get to know myself and to love myself better while I am away from a lot of things. I am cultivating a lot of good habits and getting rid of every toxicity. I love who I am becoming, I just feel like I am growing and blossoming. The final product is going to be great.

       3. Do I like dogs?

I know that I always talk about cats but I do not have a problem with dogs. I am just into cats right now no hard feelings but I am sure that It won't be hard for a dog to steal my heart because I love anything adorable and playful. I do want to have a puppy in the future but for now, a cat is just what I need.

      4. Do I cry?

Lol honestly I get more upset than I cry, I am very emotional but a lot of people don't know that because of my ice and calm exterior. But I have had my best crying session in the shower I mean how emotional can you not be to cry in the shower.

being writer.

Publié par Gaelle.R

I hope everyone is having a great day.

Being a writer, I always felt the need to write about the experience and what comes with the possibility of being able to write. When I first started this blog I was 16 and I feel like I have grown since then and my articles have gotten more positive, easier to understand because when I first started to write here I was just starting to learn how to speak English. To be honest now when I write an article about how I have overcome some obstacle, got over something that was meant to hurt me, and when I discussed all the positive things that I am doing in my life currently I feel like a fraud. The reason why I feel this way is because I am not perfect I can write all day about how to remain positive while I still have a lot of negative thoughts in my head. I believe that all of us are fighting a battle inside that no one knows about, I choose to keep this blog in a positive light because I intend to bring as much joy in the world that I can possibly bring.

When I write I feel like I am exposing myself, I almost feel naked when I expose my deepest feelings in a poem. Sometimes It is hard for some people to understand some of my poems but when I read it back to myself I feel like I just told the whole world everything about me and that thought scares me a lot. When I first started this blog I was a teenager and I was going through various stages in my life before I became who I am today. I feel like my writing has been growing with me. In the beginning, I was afraid to be my true self in my writing because I felt like my thoughts were not inspiring enough, at that time I was thinking more about what other people thought about me than about what I am writing. I was always trying to be safe in my writing and those are not my best work. I do not want my work to offend anyone, I want to uplift anyone that read my blog or anything that I have written. When I share my stories and experience with you it is not to talk about myself (I hate talking about myself) I do it to show anyone that is in the same situation as me that it is possible to come out of that situation, that you are not the only one going through what you're going through and it is possible to stay positive.

when first started writing I did not know where I fit, like did I write poetry better?r, articles or stories better?. To this day I am still trying to figure out where I fit but I still share my work and I still believe that I am a writer who is trying to create more each day.

I want to thank everyone who has been reading my blog.

much love.

how I keep negative thoughts far away.

Publié par Gaelle.R

I think all of us are trying to stay positive and to keep negative thoughts away. Personally, I have been struggling for a very long time with staying positive and I think that I already talked about it here but I can say that I am more positive now. I will tell you some of the things that I do to keep negative thoughts away.

  1. when It happens and I feel like I have no control over my thoughts, I pray. I remember that verse psalm 46:10 I always feel like God Is trying to tell me to be still and to recognize that he is God by keeping that in mind I remember that God can do anything and he can take those thoughts away. When I pray I pour out my whole heart and I ask God to take all the bad thoughts away. "keep on asking, and it will be given to you, keep on seeking, and you will find." Matthew 7:7
  2. I listen to music. I love listening to music and when I feel like my thoughts are becoming less positive I try to find uplifting songs and I try to let the music take me without trying to understand anything.
  3. I sing. Ok so I am not like Withney Houston or anything like that lol, but I sing anyway because it makes me happy and I just feel free when I sing. That's a really good feeling to have, to be able to feel free and happy at the same time.
  4. I dance. I am not the best dancer lol and most of the time I barely know what I am doing but I dance anyway because I feel so powerful lol I feel like I can move my body in whatever way that I want to. I mostly dance in my room, I am too shy to dance in front of people.
  5. I write. I know that some of you may not like to write and I am not trying to shove the idea of writing down anyone's throat lol But I think It really helps to write how you feel when you're feeling down, sad, or unsure of yourself. It really helps to write your thoughts down even if they are not pretty but by seeing what you wrote you can have a visual of what your mind is made of and if you don't like what you see you can tear up that paper and change your mind.
  6. I talk to someone I trust. I think it's really important to have someone that you can talk to about how you feel, to confide in, to ask for advice. You cannot go on with life alone and I had to learn that the hard way. I used to feel like it was hard to trust someone and I don't think it is easy for me but I know that there's always that one person that I can always go to and to confide in when negative thoughts are taking over.

introvert.

Publié par Gaelle.R

hey there,

Hope everyone is being safe, I'm going straight to the point.

I am going to talk about someone who has an introvert personality, I fall into that category (I almost said "sadly I fall into that category) but society is the reason why I feel like being an introvert is a bad thing when In reality it's not but we will get into that soon. To have an introvert personality quoting from the internet is "when a person keeps his / her thoughts and feelings to himself/herself. Introversion does not often let a person seek inspiration or contentment from an outside source. For that matter, the person is enough in himself/herself. He/she is his/her own friend." I partially agree with that as an introvert I can say that I do not need people to feel good or to have a good time, I enjoy my alone time by the fact I need my alone time because that is how I recharge my social battery. After I hang out with a group of people you will find me alone for a while trying to recuperate from all that energy that I've spent but however I need a friend. I am not sure if all my friends understand how much I need them at times. Some days are hard and I feel like giving up on some things and I may cry because I am human.

Being an introvert doesn't necessarily mean someone who is always alone and keeps everyone away. Just because I am quiet doesn't mean that I am shy or that I am stupid. I am reading a book about being an introvert to understand myself better, the title is "quiet the power of introverts in a world that can't stop talking" by Susan Cain I recommend it if you're trying to understand yourself as an introvert or your introverts friends and family. Basically, I read that being an introvert has its downside in the sense that our quietness makes us seem less smart in a room surrounded by extroverted people who speak way more. As an introvert, you may have a really smart idea in a group but you don't share it because simply you're afraid and it's like stepping outside your comfort zone, this happens to me a lot and I used to question my intelligence or beat myself up over it because I feel like I let fear have too much control over me. Now I understand that as an introvert it is totally normal and I agree that there's a time to talk and a time to stay silent but now If I stay silent in a group setting I understand why and I will not question my intelligence because of it.

Most of the time parents do not want their kids to be shy and stay to themselves, they want their kid to be outgoing and to have a lot of friends. Honestly, I would want that for my kid but I would not force him to interact with others or to change who he is, I would simply provide a very safe environment for him to grow and to feel comfortable enough to let himself be free whenever he is ready. The world needs more introverts who take pleasure in who they are and who can prove to society that we are in fact powerful in our ways. We may be quiet but our world is not small, we can discover a variety of things in our alone times. We have the power to be so focus on a particular subject that we know everything we need to know about it.

As a kid, I was really shy and I did not have many friends. I was always reading a book alone in my room or in the garden (one thing introverts feel connected with nature).  Believe me, I was happy because I was being myself but now that I've grown I am less shy, I interact with strangers, I read less (which is bad). All this to show that being an introvert is not a bad thing...

Always felt like the need to do way more like what I'm giving is not enough.

Always felt the need to say something as if my silence doesn't already speak for itself.

Always felt the need to show up, when deep down I just want to hide.

Always felt the need to occupy more space as if my presence is not enough.

Always felt the need to speak louder as if my soft voice can't carry itself across the room.

what quarantine taught me.

Publié par Gaelle.R

I am going straight to the point.

  1. To keep a skincare routine for clear skin. This is a huge subject for me as a woman before quarantine my skin was ok but I had a lot of dark spots on my face and I always felt the need to wear makeup when I am going out. To be honest, I didn't feel good about putting my face on camera without a filter and I am not ashamed to admit that because now I have no problem to facetime someone without feeling disgusted with the way my skin looks on camera. All of this is growth, admitting your flaws is part of growth and by seeing your flaws you can either accept it, embrace it, or fix it if you can. In my case, I chose to keep a good skincare routine to keep my face clear.I don't like a lot of makeup I always keep it light but I would always feel the need to wear some type of makeup when I am going out. I barely wear makeup now and I feel so much better in my own skin. I feel so beautiful without makeup, it was a struggle for me to step out of the house without feeling like I need to conceal my face. My face is much clearer and I couldn't be happier.
  2. to drink water. I made a second part to this, although drinking water is good for your skin it's also good for your internal organs as well as your skin. To be honest I never really drink water every day until this year. At the beginning of the year, I started to motivate myself to drink more water by getting those fancy and nice big water bottles. It worked because I found myself drinking so much water and my skin is looking amazing.
  3. the power of letting toxic habits and people go. Before quarantine, I always felt the need to keep people around even if they were mean to me (sadly) because I used to believe that they were going to change and that one day they would start to appreciate and respect me. I am not proud of that and that was a huge mistake. I didn't honor myself by accepting this type of behavior or those type of people in my life. Although I gotta lot of love for everyone, I do not hold grudges because it's too much work. If I let you go and you're reading this I do not hate you, you're just simply not bringing the best out of me and whatever you were bringing to the table I don't want it.  I feel much better when I let toxic people go, I feel so happy and at peace. Please let the toxic people in your life go. You will gain a much better connection with other people and better friends. You deserve the best of the best.
  4. decluttering. I used to keep a lot of things that I don't use, I still have a few things to get rid of but so far I am doing good. I feel much better when I have a clean room and less clutter. I just find myself breathing better.
  5. The power of saving money. I am learning to save my money now and not to spend money on things that I do not need. I may want something but do I really need it? don't I have something similar at home? those are the questions I ask myself.
  6. the power of working out. I always wanted my body to look a certain way and I realize that I have to work out to get the body that I want and I realize that It's possible as long as I work hard for it, it's slowly coming along and I am so happy.

Decluttering

Publié par Gaelle.R

Hey there!

Let's get right into the topic.

One area of my life that I really struggle with is decluttering. I hold on to things more than I should I am a memory hoarder, I am that person that will hold on to an empty pack of gum because someone special gave it to me. It is so bad that sometimes I don't get rid of my lotion bottles simply because "I might need it" like what am I going to do with an empty lotion bottle? I realize that it's time for me to clean up my life not only physically but emotionally too. Like I am letting old feelings go, I am letting go of things that used to hurt me in the past go because every day is a new chance to start a new life. I felt like there was so much chaos in my life but now I want to clean up things a little bit to live a more simple life. To be honest, you don't really need a lot of things to survive, I know the world wants us to believe more is always better but all of those things you are bringing into your life only bring debt, a lot of clutter ... I want to live a minimalist lifestyle now where I believe less is way better for my well being. so this is what I started doing.

  • cleaning up my room and throwing out any products that I don't use. (trust me those products needed to be thrown out they've been there since 2015)
  • I am donating items that I don't use because I feel like I am no longer using it then someone else can benefit from it. I am donating old clothes and clothing that doesn't fit anymore, donating shoes (I have way too many shoes)
  • I am also cleaning my playlist. I am getting rid of songs that are vulgar or that I never really listen to so that it could be a lot easier to find the songs that I want to listen to.
  • I am learning to buy things that I need. In the past, I have bought a bunch of clothes, shoes, items and I haven't really used all of them.
  • make home-cooked meals instead of eating out every day.
  • not opening too many tabs on my computer when I am working so that I can find what I am looking for faster.

I realize that I was spending way too much money on things that I didn't really need and I wasn't saving anything. By decluttering my life I believe that I will manage my money better and save more.

I am always growing and expanding.

blossoming into a full blown camellia.

my last year self can’t compare to who I am today.

The way I looked the beginning of this year is such a disgrace to the woman that I am now.

I am in competition with no one but myself.

I am no longer chasing anything that is toxic.

so sorry if who I am now doesn’t match The idea of the person you think I am.

I may fall but I rise beautifully.

Like wine I only get better with age.

the power of a positive mind.

Publié par Gaelle.R

I am currently reading a book in French the title is " apprends moi a revivre" a part of it talks about the power of thoughts on the human mental state. While I was reading the book I had a moment of epiphany and I was literally like "wow". So basically I can see that the outcomes of the way we see life itself depend on the way we see things. In the book there was a woman who cannot get pregnant; the doctor told her that there's a problem with her and that is why she can't get pregnant so she went to a retreat where she met a sort "life coach" which was a woman. The life coach told her" so you cannot get pregnant because you believe that the doctor told you that you have a problem and that you cannot get pregnant", she also said there is 2 possible ways that you can take this.

  1. the first possibility is " I am confident that even though I cannot get pregnant because it's not the right time or that the condition doesn't allow it now that I can still learn from this and gained more wisdom about life itself" that was a possible way to see things.
  2. the second possibility was that " something is wrong with me the doctors are right and my marriage is going to be ruined because I can't have children."

with tears in her eyes the woman chooses the second option, she actually believes that something was wrong with her while she had another option to believe that things can change and that her marriage is not going to be ruined. Now, what do I get from this?

to be honest we all go through hardships in life but it is up to us to chose if we're going to look at life with a negative eye. we can be in the worse possible situation while still be positive and happy. when we take things so hard and we take it so personal to the point where we sabotage our own lives. I do it personally I am not perfect. I come across as being quiet and shy but I am none of those things all of that is a result of all the conversations I had in my head which was " someone can say what you're about to say better" or" I am going to mess things up" which is why I don't say much. In some ways, all of us have done it where we say negative things to ourselves where we stop ourselves from succeeding and stepping up to the plate.

we need to be more positive because that will make a big change in our lives. we can change the way we think and stop being so negative about our current situation; life will feel so much better if we try to stay more positive. We have to stay realistic but for the sake of being happy, we do have to think more positively.

I am working on an article about self-care and mental health. I think It's great because I am learning a lot of things about myself and I am finding a lot of new tricks to help me relieve stress... I might post it later if it doesn't get too personal.
