Blood line by Lynda La Plante
This is the current book I am reading, and I am very invested. I was getting tired of authors like Colleen Hoover who has an overly erotic type of writing. This book is more so crime fiction, since I am into true crimes I figured why not dive into it.
I am on chapter 7 as I am writing this but by tomorrow, I should be on my way to chapter 9 or 10. The main character Anna is a detective who just lost her fiancé, she’s refusing to take time off. She wants to keep
Working, right now she’s investigating a case of a missing man. At first she didn’t have much evidence to classify this case as a murder case, she was eventually thinking the man simply vanished because he was trying to run away from his current life.
But the man has been missing for 8 weeks and he was only reported missing 2 weeks later by his girlfriend and father. Her and her partner has been around asking neighbors, and co workers about the man , he was described as a quote on quote nice guy, he was always to himself never raised his voice and avoid altercations at all costs but was he hiding something?
What about his girlfriend why is she nonchalant about the whole thing isn’t she worried? Why does she quickly ask for a lawyer when they start questioning her?
Anna just discovered new evidence in the case that could suggest a murder took place in the apartment the man shared with his girlfriend, she found blood stains behind the bed which suggest that the victim was hit with a blunt object which would suggest evidence of foul play. It looked like the victim was lying on the floor or at edge of the bed while blood splattered on the floor.
To be honest I am not sure if the girlfriend killed him, to be honest she doesn’t fit the description of a killer. She owns a hair salon, but she is very clean! Which is why when the detectives entered the apartment they smelled a strong odor of bleach and immediately Anna thought what was she hiding? Why did she had to clean every surface ? Now that they are treating the apartment as a murder scene the girlfriend has to stay somewhere else.
I think : the guy is not a nice guy at all, I think he killed someone in the apartment and cleaned it up before the girlfriend got home and he ran away. I also think he was gay! lol I don’t know why but people described him as someone who’s super clean! But he’s a mechanic! I don’t know it’s just my thought. I do believe that he’s dead but if he’s not dead he’s badly injured somewhere. It’s just a matter of time before Anna finds a body but I don’t think it will be the missing man’s body…
I’ll keep reading, it’s too interesting. I love this author’s style of writing, she doesn’t linger on useless details ! She gets straight to the point and everything is clear.
